The Emergentes Portfolio Reviews for 2024 are now open for submissions. Encontros da Imagem is excited to announce that our annual portfolio reviews — with a jury of internationally and nationally acclaimed professionals in the photography field — are returning to the historic city of Braga in September 2024. This Award offers a chance to meet with recognized commissioners, gallerists, curators and publishers, to present your portfolio, promote your work and receive valuable feedback and advice.

The 32 selected photographers receive 8 individual review appointments, lasting 20 minutes each (10+10 minutes), and have the opportunity to influence who they meet with ahead of the reviews.

The jury will be looking for the best contemporary photographic works, and will award the 1st place winner a prize of 3000€ and 2 Honorable mentions with 1.000€ each. The winner will have a solo exhibition on the edition of 2025, as well.

The EMERGENTES 2024 – International Photography Award Encontros da Imagem, consists of 3.000€ monetary award and a solo exhibition in the next edition of the festival in 2025; plus, two Honorable Mentions of 1.000€ each and a projection of the total series.

The winner will have the project published on KATALOG magazine.
